Can I plug Luna Display into an adapter or hub?

Learn about Luna Display's compatibility with adapters, docks, and hubs.

Updated over 2 months ago

Quick answer:

Luna Display must be plugged directly into a compatible port on your Mac or PC - adapters, hubs, and docks are not officially supported.

  • USB-C Luna requires DisplayPort Alt Mode, which is optional on many USB-C ports and adapters

  • Adapters, hubs, and docks can be used for wired connections (Ethernet/Thunderbolt cables) but the Luna hardware itself will need to be directly plugged into your computer.

Can Luna be plugged into an adapter, hub, or dock?

No. The Luna Display hardware must be plugged directly into a compatible port on your Mac or PC. We cannot guarantee Luna will work with an adapter, hub, or dock, since they use different communication protocols.

Can adapters be used for wired connections?

Yes, adapters can be used for wired connections like Thunderbolt or Ethernet, which are separate from Luna Display's hardware. You will still need to plug Luna Display directly into your Mac or PC. Find out more about Luna Display's supported connection methods:
