Using External Keyboards with Luna Display

Luna Display supports different keyboard setups, allowing control of both your primary and secondary devices.

💡 Supported setups:

  • Keyboard connected to the primary device, controlling both devices.

  • Keyboard connected to the secondary device, controlling both devices.

  • Separate keyboards for each device.

⚠️ Note: Luna Display does not have an on-screen keyboard.

Keyboard Setup

What setup provides the best experience?

✅ Connecting to the Primary Device

We recommend using a keyboard on the primary device for the best performance:

  • Supports key repeat functions like Delete (Mac) and Backspace (Windows).

  • Fewer compatibility issues with mixed setups (e.g., PC to Mac).

  • Supports non-QWERTY layouts (AZERTY, Colemak, etc.). You may need to switch manually.

If you experience input issues, check for third-party apps like Karabiner-Elements or Keyboard Maestro, which may interfere with Luna Display.

⚠️ Connecting to the Secondary Device

  • Supports Cmd + Tab to switch apps with Exclusive Fullscreen Mode disabled.

  • Limited support for key repeats and non-QWERTY keyboards.

  • Some shortcuts and gestures may not work with a trackpad.

iPad Keyboard Limitations: macOS shortcuts do not work when using an iPad keyboard, as commands are tied to iPadOS. The following shortcuts are unsupported:

  • CMD + Tab

  • CMD + Spacebar

  • CMD + ESC

  • CMD + Q
