📋 What is AppConfig support?

Starting with version 5.3.2, Astropad Studio supports AppConfig for easy deployment across multiple devices using mobile device management (MDM) solutions like Jamf or Apple Business Essentials.

Setting up AppConfig for Astropad Studio

Recommended tool: Use Jamf's AppConfig Generator for configuration

Setup Steps:

  1. Download the Specfile: Get our Astropad Studio Specfile

  2. Upload to generator: Import the Specfile into the AppConfig generator

  3. Configure settings: Use the online generator to customize Studio-specific settings (see options below)

Available AppConfig Settings

🏢 Enable office mode by default: Automatically activates office mode, disabling Bonjour and network discovery tools. Ideal for enterprise or educational environments requiring controlled connections.

📡 Allow P2P Wireless connections: Control peer-to-peer wireless connections. Useful when multiple iPads operate in close proximity (classrooms, shared labs).

🔐 Allowed login domains: Restrict logins to specific email domains, limiting access to your organization's users only.

👤 Allowed login providers: Control which authentication providers are permitted (e.g., restrict to Google logins for company/university use).

🔑 Default user credentials: Pre-configure shared account credentials for devices in labs or classrooms:

  • Default user to login

  • Default user password
