Getting started with Bookcase is super simple! Just download the app, enable NFC, and customize what happens when you dock your phone. Whether you want to launch your favorite reading app or display a personal message, this guide will get you set up in minutes.
Step 1: Enable NFC on Your Device
NFC (Near Field Communication) lets your phone talk to Bookcase when you dock it.
Open Settings on your Android phone
Search for "NFC" in the settings search bar
Toggle NFC to ON if it's not already enabled

Step 2: Download & Launch the App
Download Bookcase from the Google Play Store
Open the app and follow the setup instructions
When prompted, place your phone directly into Bookcase to test the connection
Step 3: Choose Your Bookcase Action
Decide what happens the moment you dock your phone - this is where Bookcase gets personal!
Step 4: Save Your Settings
Lock in your preferences so Bookcase remembers what you want.
After selecting your preferred action, tap Save
You'll see a confirmation screen - success! 🎉
Your settings are now stored on Bookcase's NFC chip
Step 5: Test Everything
Time for the moment of truth!
Place your phone into Bookcase, aligning it with the NFC area
Your chosen action should trigger immediately
If it works - congratulations! You're all set up ✅
Troubleshooting
Phone not responding when docked?
Double-check that NFC is still enabled in Settings
Try putting your phone to sleep, then wake it up while docked
Make sure your phone is properly aligned with the NFC ring in Bookcase
Action not triggering?
Open the Bookcase app and verify your saved settings
Try re-saving your preferred action
Test with the "Show Splash Screen" option first to confirm NFC connection
