When using an iPad during a remote session, many of the system-level keyboard shortcuts you would use in a Mac environment are instead locked to the iPadOS. The Workbench iPad app provides the ability to remap these shortcuts so that you can easily integrate them into your Mac workflow.
⚠️ Note: Custom shortcuts are currently only available for physical keyboards connected to the iPad. Virtual or onscreen keyboards are not yet supported.
How to enable Keyboard Shortcuts
The keyboard shortcuts are edited on the iPad, and can be found in the Settings menu.
Tap the '...' button in the top right to open the Settings menu

Remapping your shortcuts
Workbench already has each set of iPadOS keyboard shortcuts remapped to shortcuts that will successfully send to your Mac by default, and each shortcut has a toggle if you would prefer not to use it.
💡 If you would like to change the key combination used for a shortcut, tap on the blue text next to the toggle for that shortcut. This will allow you to enter your preferred key combination.
Custom key combinations: Record a new shortcut (like Option-Tab) to send the original command to your Mac.
Covers window management (Close Window, Minimize Window, Hide App, Hide Other Apps) and system commands (Spotlight, App Switcher, App Settings, Quit App, Hide & Show Dock, Esc, Screenshot, Screenshot Selection).
