Use a Cable Connection
To fix fuzzy display issues when connected via WiFi, you may need to switch to a cable connection.
Recommended Cable Options (in order of preference):
Ethernet (can be used with an Ethernet to USB-C adapter if your computer doesn't have an Ethernet port)
Thunderbolt (can be used with a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter with a Thunderbolt 2 cable if one computer has Thunderbolt 2 and the other has Thunderbolt 3+)
USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to USB-A (only compatible with macOS 10.15+)
Why Cable Fixes This:
Provides 10-100x more bandwidth than WiFi
No interference or signal drops if the connection is active
Consistent, sharp display quality
Zero latency worries
If You Cannot Use Cable Right Now
Important: These WiFi optimizations may only provide minor improvements. You can have great internet speeds, but the latency of the connection can still be impacted.
WiFi Optimization Steps
Step 1: Switch to 5GHz Network
Open WiFi settings on both devices and connect to your 5GHz network (not 2.4GHz). 5GHz provides much more bandwidth for better quality.
Step 2: Move Closer to Router
Place both devices in the same room as your router. Avoid walls and obstacles between devices and router. Distance significantly affects display quality.
Step 3: Reduce Network Congestion
Disconnect unnecessary devices from WiFi
Pause downloads/streaming on other devices
Close bandwidth-heavy apps on both devices
Remove any Bluetooth devices nearby
Step 4: Lower Resolution
Open System Settings > Displays
Select your Luna Display
Choose "Scaled" if available
Try these resolutions in order:
1920 × 1080 (Full HD)
1680 × 1050
1440 × 900
Important Notes
If WiFi Optimization Helps "Slightly":
A slight improvement means the issue isn't fully resolved. We recommend a cable connection in this instance.
After Trying Everything:
If WiFi optimizations don't dramatically improve quality, a cable connection is the best solution, due to outside factors.
