How to Submit a Diagnostic Report in Workbench

Send our team the information we need to investigate an issue with your Workbench session.

If you are experiencing an issue with Workbench, submitting a diagnostic report helps our team investigate what went wrong. Reports are tied to your Astropad account so we can identify you without needing any additional information.


📋 How to Submit a Diagnostic Report

On Mac:

Automatically send to our team:

  1. Open Workbench on your Mac

  2. On the Mac Menu, click Help

  3. Select Generate Diagnostic Report

  4. The report will run for a few moments

  5. Once complete, it should say Diagnostic report ready

  6. Click on Send to Astropad

  7. Wait for the Diagnostic Report to upload

  8. Once the upload is complete, you'll receive confirmation

Manually send to our team:

  1. Open Workbench on your Mac

  2. On the Mac Menu, click Help

  3. Select Generate Diagnostic Report

  4. The report will run for a few moments

  5. Once complete, it should say Diagnostic report ready

  6. Click on Open...

  7. Your document will then show up in Finder in the Downloads folder

  8. Next, attach your report(s) to your email/chat and our team will review it for you

On iPad:

There are a few ways you can generate and send a diagnostic report from your iPad.

Automatically send to our team:

  1. Open Workbench on your iPad

  2. On the main device list screen, tap the in the top right corner

  3. Tap on Diagnostic Report to generate the report

  4. Once complete, it should say Diagnostic report ready

  5. Tap on Send to Astropad

  6. Wait for the Diagnostic Report to upload

  7. Once the upload is complete, you'll receive confirmation

Manually send to our team:

There may be times where you aren't able or don't want to send reports directly via the app. In that case, you can manually send the file to us.

  1. Open Workbench on your iPad

  2. On the main device list screen, tap the in the top right corner

  3. Tap on Diagnostic Report to generate the report

  4. Once complete, it should say Diagnostic report ready

  5. Tap on Share...

  6. You can then choose to save your file anywhere on your iPad

  7. Next, attach your report(s) to your email/chat and our team will review it for you

💡 Good to Know

  • Submit the report as soon as possible after the issue occurs so the logs are fresh and relevant.

  • If you have trouble sending the report through the application, you can send it in an email or chat to our team.

  • When sending a report, it's always best to include as much information as possible about the issue, your devices, and the symptoms you're seeing. We'd rather you send too much information than not enough. The more information we have, the sooner we are able to find a solution.
